Commercial real estate developers are hopeful that as employment in the Los Angeles area increases, so will the demand for commercial property. According to the Allen Matkins UCLA Anderson Forecast conducted every six months, overall economic trends show that the markets are improving. Demand for office and industrial property—either for lease or purchase—have made improvements in the area. Developers and other big wheels in the commercial real estate field were polled by region and resulted in mixed feelings about what the next few years hold for the market. Southern California landlords report the start of actual recovery as more and more steady renters move in. Developers are also hoping that the trend will continue to the point that there is once again a strong demand for further commercial property construction.
