They are led by Attorney David A. Shapiro, who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, Austin. He later attended the University of California, Hastings College of Law to receive his law degree.

During his time spent at law school, Mr. Shapiro worked for the Environmental Enforcement Division of the United States Department of Justice as an intern, as well as working for the Black Forty as Chief Student Editor. Although both of these experiences helped to shape him as a person, he ultimately decided that his true passion involved trust administration and litigation. Since earning his law degree, Mr. Shapiro has become licensed to practice law in all courts within the state of California, as well as in the United States District Courts; Northern, Eastern and Central Districts of California; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
